While homeless veterans often have impressive skills, experience, and education, they also typically face significant barriers to employment. This lecture describes common issues that arise when assisting homeless veterans with work-related activities as well as emphasizes the importance of understanding how military service can affect behavior, attitudes, work preferences, and styles of communication. This lecture is intended for case managers, housing staff, employment specialists, vocational rehabilitation staff, and program managers who might provide services to people who are homeless.
