This report summarizes the homeless assistance awarded by HUD under the 2007 Continuum of Care (CoC) competitive grants process. More than $1.3 billion was awarded to local programs to meet the needs of their homeless clients. CoC grants provide permanent and transitional housing to homeless people. These grants also fund important services including job training, health care, mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment and child care. The report provides summary information on people served, beds provided, projects requested and funded by program (SHP, SPC and SRO) and by project status (new or renewal). In addition, the report provides summary information on the types of activities funded (housing/operations, services, HMIS, administration), funds awarded for permanent housing, and funds awarded for projects serving persons who are chronically homeless.
