Neighborhood Stabilization Program-Funding Resource for CoCs

HUD has announced community allocations for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), a program funded under the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA). $3.92 billion has been allocated to CDBG communities and States across the country for a variety of housing related activities. 25% of the funding must be used to house persons at or below 50% of the area median income (AMI).

HUD encourages all Continuums of Care and/or human service providers to get involved in the planning process for how these funds are used locally, and to propose viable projects that serve special needs populations, including individuals and families who are homeless, those living with HIV/AIDS and low income veterans. Community plans (submitted in the form of an amendment to the local CDBG Action Plan) are due to HUD on December 1 - therefore it is important to get involved quickly.

Find links to NSP resources below. HUD will provide additional information via the NSP website as it becomes available, so log on often.
