HDX (PIT, HIC, AHAR, PULSE)

Overview of the HDX

The Homelessness Data Exchange (HDX) is an online data submission tool for reporting to HUD. The HDX allows Continuums of Care nationwide to submit data on:

  • The annual Housing Inventory Count (HIC);
  • The annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of Homeless Populations and Subpopulations;
  • The Homelessness Pulse Project; and
  • The Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR).

The HDX includes many features that streamline the annual reporting process and help communities to understand and clean their data. To access the HDX, please click on the following link:

Log into the HDX

To log into the HDX, users must have a HMIS.info account and must have access privileges to community-level data. The HDX uses the same username and password as the HMIS.info website. The primary contact within each Continuum of Care (CoC) has the responsibility of registering and assigning read, write and submit authority to persons within their community who will be responsible for entering and submitting data for the Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and the Homeless Point-in-Time Count (PIT).
